I have a map that is scaled and I want to find out how much real area is in a rectangle that measures 1.7 inch by 2.8 inch on the map.
The scale is 1 inch = 2000 ft

scaleinch = 2000 ft
1.7 scaleinch * 2.8 scaleinch ? acres
= 437.098 acres

A file contains 2.3 mega bytes of data, how long will it take to retrieve it with my 1200 baud modem?

2.3 megabytes; 1200 baud ? hours
= 4.25926 hours
